CHILD SAFETY

Every person in the netball community has a responsibility to understand their role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people in our care.

OOPS Netball Club is committed to promoting and protecting the rights of children and preventing abuse from occurring by fostering a culture where children feel safe and empowered.

We also seek to ensure the cultural safety of First Nations children, children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and children with a disability.

We encourage input of families and communities in decisions impacting children and young people. You can contact us at oopsnetball@gmail.com

We are a child safe club

01.

  • We have zero tolerance for child abuse

02.

  • We have systems in place to protect children

03.

  • We support and respect children with a disability and children from diverse cultures

We believe children should:

01.

  • Feel comfortable

02.

  • Be cared for

03.

  • Feel safe and be safe

Remember:

01.

  • It is always okay to tell someone if you are not feeling comfortable or safe or if you have been hurt.

02.

  • If you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable, we will listen to you and act to help you

03.

  • It is okay for you to say NO to an adult if they ask you to do something that makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable.

04.

  • It is not okay for anyone to hurt your feelings or your body.

We stand by and adhere to Netball Victoria's Commitment to Child Safety
